Azeez Alatoye is the Lead Legal Consultant of Explorers Legal Practitioners. He is an opinion leader in Energy and Oil & Gas taxation with quality years of experiences with multinational firms including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte and Ernst & Young. Azeez has been involved in myriads of Tax Litigation cases to clients both in Nigerian Tribunals and Courts and in International Tribunals. He has lead various Corporate and Commercial transactions including Mergers & Acquisitions, Buy-outs, Corporate structuring and re-structuring and Advance Legal Opinions for International Centre for Settlement of Investment Dispute (ICSID) and International Chamber of Commerce.
He has been involved in series of legislative review as the current Dean of Extractive Industry Tax Faculty at the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He was a member of the Research & Technical Committee of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, a member of the Finance & General Purpose Committee and the Chairman of the Computer Sub-Committee of the Institute. He has participated widely in Oil & Gas Conferences in Nigeria, UK, USA, South Africa, Ghana among others. He has presented many papers both in Nigeria and abroad. His experience cuts across multinationals having interest across Asia, North America, South America, Middle East, Europe and Africa.
Azeez studied law at the University of Bradford (UK) were he got his LLB before proceeding to the Nigerian Law School for his BL. He is a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and Member of the Institute of Management (MNIM). Azeez is an advocate of a friendly investment environment and amicable resolution of business and tax disputes.
